The Boston Red Sox Internship program will provide a great opportunity for interns looking to immerse themselves in a full service sports and entertainment venue. The Red Sox are looking for dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic and possess a good skill set to handle day-to-day operational tasks and create a positive, fun-filled environment for our fans, staff and sponsors.

 

Interns will be hired in the following departments with daily work focused within these areas:
• Ballpark Operations (2)
• Game Day Presentation and Administration (2)
• Corporate Partnerships and Client Services (1)

Examples of Responsibilities for All Interns:
• Assist Fenway Sports Management and Red Sox Destinations with all events such as Red Sox Fantasy Camp and Destinations picnics/events during Spring Training.
• Assist in the coordination and execution of yearly Public Affairs and Charitable Giving Campaigns, such as, Diamond Dinner, the Lee County Boys and Girls Club, “Evening with the Red Sox,” and the annual Partners Party.
• Execution of delivering corporate partners season ticket packages
• Set up and breakdown during all Spring Training home games.
• Assist with development and execution of Game Day promotions.
• Assist with preparation and execution of events, such as the annual Open House, Staff Orientation, and End of Season Employee BBQ.
• Transportation to and from airports/hotels for Red Sox personnel.
• Distribution of pocket schedules to local businesses and establishments

This Internship is for Corporate Partnerships and Client Services


The Boston Red Sox are looking for an individual who will be responsible for assisting in the management, activation and servicing of the Club’s corporate partnerships and premium sales clients. This internship is designed to provide an intern with experience in a corporate sales and service environment specifically relating to the sports community. This position plays a key role in growing sales revenues, managing high profile accounts and assuring a quality experience for our clients.

Examples of Responsibilities and Expectations:

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS
• Coordination and execution of sponsor related elements
• Assist corporate sales team in prospecting new leads for corporate partnerships and premium sales
• Scheduling of all ballpark exhibiting days and sponsor giveaways
• Assist with the gameday activation of all sponsor giveaways/promotions
• Responsible for the procurement of all sponsor related artwork for signage and print
• Collection of all photos for end of year sponsor recaps
• Creation of sponsor recap template
• Development of all Spring Training advertisements and promotional material
• Assist with building of sales proposals through Power Point and Adobe Photoshop.
• Assist with the preparation of sales contracts and sales planning.
CLIENT SERVICES
• Create database of all Spring Training sponsors and premium sales
• Liaison between ticket office manager and sponsor/Premium sales clients
• Ensuring customer satisfaction in all Premium sales areas
• Development of premium sales advertisements
• Coordination and distribution of tickets for premium sales clients and sponsors


REQUIREMENTS:
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask and be a self-starter.
• The ability to prioritize efficiently.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic
• The ability to think on their feet and be a problem solver.
• Ability to work flexible hours to include holidays, weekends, evenings and game events as well as regular work week hours.
• Must be accessible afterhours
• College Credit available, if needed for graduation, but not a requirement.
o Must be Junior year or greater to apply
• Must be able to relocate to Fort Myers and be able to provide own housing and transportation.

This Internship is for Ballpark Operations
The Boston Red Sox are looking for two individuals to help assist with the management of the Ballpark Operations department. This internship is demanding and difficult, but an essential job to prepare JetBlue Park for the Spring Training season. You will have the chance to learn how to care and maintain the hydrotherapy room, prepare the practice fields for the thousands of fans that come to see the Red Sox prepare for their season, and experience what it takes to set up JetBlue Park and Fenway South Drive for Opening Day!


Examples of Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Assist with the organization and planning of all rental needs for Spring Training.
• Assist with ballpark walkthroughs, recording and following up on repairs and maintenance.
• Assist in set up and break down of all events held at JetBlue Park including: Spring Training games, Open House, Fenway South Farmer’s Market, concerts, and many other events.
• Transportation to and from airports/hotels for Red Sox personnel.
• Manage and maintain the hydrotherapy room.
• Execution and breakdown of all Spring Training related areas inside and outside the ballpark.
• Assist with the planning and execution of the end of Spring Training Employee BBQ and Softball game
• Serve as a liaison between the game day staff and management
• Assist with the inventory of received shipments and promotional products.
• Coordinate and lead all building organization activities to ensure Club’s high standards for order and cleanliness are maintained

The Boston Red Sox are looking for two individuals who will be responsible for running the Game Day Presentations and Administration roles for Spring Training. These positions are instrumental and designed to help the individuals learn the development, coordination and implementation of all aspects of Spring Training at JetBlue Park.


Examples of Responsibilities and Expectations:

GAME DAY PRESENTATION
• Coordination and scheduling of all:
o National Anthem Singers
o Ceremonial First Pitch
o Honorary Bat Boys/Girls
• Creation of day of game scripts
• Oversee the execution of pregame ceremonies and game day presentation
• Coordination and scheduling of all JetBlue Community Corner participants
• Execution of all Charitable Giving efforts and Week of Service
• Coordination and scheduling of all Fenway South Drive entertainment
• Operation and execution of all Control Room and Manual Scoreboard responsibilities

ADMINISTRATION
• Scheduling of all Green Team Volunteers
• Coordination of all mailings and deliveries to and from JetBlue Park
• Transportation to and from airports/hotels for Red Sox personnel.
• Assist with all Red Sox personnel in setting up their houses for their Spring Training stay
• Assist with all Rental car needs

Requirements:

Summary:

The Procurement Intern is responsible for supporting the purchasing department in all functions for day-to-day sourcing needs.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing daily Purchase Orders ensuring that all transactions are processed according to Sterling Mets, L.P. policies and procedures.
  • Assist Corporate Procurement department with daily tasks.
  • Working with end-users to define and document product or service requirements for RFP documents.
  • Assist in managing the purchase order tracking process.
  • Responsible for registering new suppliers, maintaining terms & conditions and insurance.

Internship Summary:

The candidate will assist in the development and execution of the Mets’ Community Outreach Plan for the 2014 season. In addition, the candidate will also complete various tasks for the Department.

 

Day-To-Day Involvement: 

  • Handling the Commissioner’s tickets program; including managing and vetting ticket requests from non-profits and other deserving organizations

  • Setup and breakdown of various events

  • Maintain merchandise, signage, and other materials

General Responsibilities:

You'll be working with the entire NY Mets IT team to make sure everyone's technology-related needs are being met. This includes routine tech support, hardware configuration, new machine installation, and network maintenance.

When the team is on the road and during the off-season, a 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. work day is expected.  When the team is home, the hours may fluctuate depending on your supervisor’s needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The Venue Services department oversees all aspects of food & beverage, merchandise, memorabilia, promotions, on-site tenants, and inventory control.  From determining the price of a hot dog to negotiating with player agents for memorabilia agreements, Venue Services is involved in a vast amount of areas within the organization.  This internship will provide insight and inclusion with the majority of the department’s functions.
