Job Title: Membership Intern

Reports To: Membership Coordinator

FLSA: Hourly, non-exempt

Term: May 2015 – August 2015

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Assist with recruitment for and maintenance of the Museum’s membership program

·         Assist with membership order fulfillment and membership renewals

·         Assist in researching, creating, and implementing new marketing campaigns to grow the Museum’s membership base

·         Assist with development and planning of events for Reds Hall of Fame Chapters

·         Help write and edit Hall of Fame newsletter

·         Assist in maintaining and updating the membership database and archives

·         Assist with telephone and email inquiries regarding Hall of Fame memberships

·         Assist in day-to-day office tasks, such as responding to requests, writing reports, maintaining inventories, and assisting group tours

·         Assist with game-day activities, including compiling and distributing member gifts, working membership areas inside the ballpark, and other game-day activities as assigned  

Qualifications:

·         Interns should have prior work experience in at least one business setting and/or one sports setting

·         Interns should be interested in going into sports business and should have or are pursuing an undergrad/graduate degree in a related field of study

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         Must have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable communicating with all levels of staff within organization

·         Must have ability to complete a variety of tasks and projects in a timely and well-organized manner

·         Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

·         Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are preferred)

·         Knowledge of museum database software would be helpful but is not required

 

Schedule/Work Environment:

·         Must have a flexible schedule and a willingness to commit 30 – 40 hours per week

·         Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; however, under special circumstances, employee may have “game-day” responsibilities where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time

·         Hours may include nights, weekends and holidays

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is the promotion and sale of Reds Community Fund Split the Pot tickets to fans throughout the ballpark during all Cincinnati Reds home games
  • Required to work a minimum of 75% of all Reds home games (81) throughout the 2015 season (including but not limited to nights, weekends, holidays and potentially MLB All Star Week activities).
  • Responsible for set-up and tear down of all RCF Split the Pot related materials at the beginning and conclusion of each home game
  • Additional duties may also include but are not limited to, daily set up, cash handling & reconciliation, inventory and end of night closing and reporting duties

Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in the area of sales (preferably in the sporting industry) is a must
  • Have interest in sports business and have earned/are currently pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in a related area of study

Requirements:

  • Must have an available schedule that will allow the ability to work under 30 hours per homestand including nights, weekends, holidays during the period of April 1 - October 1, 2015
  • Must have prior direct selling experience (preferred)
  • Must present self in a professional manner to interact with fans of all ages, sponsors, and game day guests
  • Must be an energetic self-starter with an outgoing personality and be customer-service driven
  • Must have general knowledge of the game of baseball

  • This is a seasonal opportunity and no benefits will be provided
  • Game Day Staff will receive a meal voucher for each game worked

IT Internship (2015 Season) - Indians Sportservice/Cleveland Indians (Cleveland, OH)

Position Summary

Assists with POS, computer and general equipment technical problems throughout the ballpark by using troubleshooting and problem solving techniques. This is a part-time, seasonal position working regularly during the baseball season making sure that concession stands and other locations are able to remain operational and service our fans in attendance. This position requires a flexible schedule, working nights, weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain an understanding of POS systems and how to resolve technical and mechanical issues.
  • Respond to technical support related emails and phone calls, escalating more complex issues to IT Manager
  • Troubleshoot errors on location quickly and independently.
  • Install, configure, and support: desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and miscellaneous devices
  • Assist in the management of asset inventory
  • Assist in developing and maintaining solutions in knowledge based systems
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • College level coursework or practical Information Technology experience preferred.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware.
  • Previous experience supporting call center environments and social media experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work extended days and hours, including evenings and weekends, based on schedule needs.
  • Ability to stand or walk for an entire shift.
  • Ability to lift or carry items up to 50 lbs.

Position Summary
Manage and establish accounting responsibilities as delegated including but not limited to sales reporting, inventory tracking and cash handling in accordance with the Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards.

Position Summary

Assists in all pre/post event back of house duties. Assists in operation of assigned concessions outlets, supervises concessions associates and non-profit volunteers (if applicable), in accordance with the Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards. 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in coordinating activities of concession associates on a per shift basis, including enforcing work procedures and service standards
  • Observes, evaluates, and documents job performance of stand attendants, stand leaders, and assists with stand personnel performance.
  • Assists in auditing pre/post event data.
  • Data entry.
  • Inspects all stands and portables in assigned area.
  • Ensures that all equipment is set up properly and operating efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensures all stands, portable carts and surrounding areas remain clean, sanitized, and safe
  • Analyzes and resolves all problems with associates, guests, and the operation with the assistance of management.
  • Investigates “over and shorts” with stand leaders and volunteer groups.
  • Estimates, requests, and inspects supplies and inventory.
  • Ensures accuracy of all deliveries
  • Adheres to and enforces inventory and labor control measures
  • Performs opening and closing procedures for assigned area
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Non-essential Functions:

  • Assists concession associates in serving guests as business levels demand

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of one year experience in foodservice position; previous experience as a stand attendant or stand manager preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

o   Keep records of camp participant information

o   Prepare t-shirts, paperwork, nametags, and other items for distribution to campers

o   Conduct camp evaluations and collect evaluation data

Day-to-day camp duties:

o   Set up and break down of the registration area and equipment

o   Administer camp sign in and sign out

o   Assist the camp coaches in camp lessons

Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Ballpark Enterprises Operations, the Intern of Ballpark Enterprises will support the event production process working on both game day and non-game day events. The Ballpark Enterprises Intern will support both the Sales and Operations team to sell, create, and produce events over the course of the season. The intern will work collaboratively with the Ballpark Enterprises team to provide a variety of services including account development and management, event planning and execution, game day event execution, and development of new business ventures.

• Responsible for assistance with planning and coordination of non-baseball events at the park (including pre-game events on game days)

• Attend and contribute in post-event debriefs.

Administrative
• Assist the Sales staff in developing and planning for new business ventures to market other revenue-generating uses of the ballpark

Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
