Job Summary:

Position is responsible for assisting the Sr. Director of Event Presentation & Production and the Manager of Event Presentation with administrative duties. In addition, this position will assist the Event Presentation & Production (EPP) Department with events (planning, set-up/breakdown, etc.), participate in the brainstorming sessions, and assist in the development and implementation of promotional elements on gamedays as well as other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director and the Manager of Event Presentation.

Accountabilities:

• Develop/track public address announcements & promotional scripts
• Manage in-stadium host(s)
• Responsible for coordinating the execution of game-day duties that include pre-game ceremonies and in-stadium/in-game promotions
• Assist and help manage the Royals K Crew and Game Crew
• Develop and execute event presentation duties for annual special events throughout the year (i.e. FanFest,  Awards Night, Opening Day, etc.)
• Assist in executing pre-game ceremonies as well as in-game features
• Coordinate event logistics for Event Presentation & Production Department
• Set-up of promotional booths, table locations, signage, etc.
• Conduct industry research
• General office duties
• Other duties as assigned by Sr. Director of Event Presentation & Production and Manager of Event Presentation

Requirements:

• One year commitment (October 2014 – October 2015)

Angels Baseball - 2015 Finance Internship - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (Anaheim, CA)

The Finance Intern is paid an hourly rate of $9.00 in the program and will work up to 40 regular business hours per week from approximately January 5, 2015 to December 2015. Applicants must be able to work flexible and some unusual hours during the team’s season including nights and weekends. Listed below are brief descriptions for the various departments:

Reporting to the Controller for Angels Baseball, this intern supports both Angels Baseball and KLAA AM830 – Primary responsibilities for Angels Baseball include: Daily Flash reports for Spring Training, 2015 Season, and special events; concession Stand inspections; and various special projects. Primary responsibilities for KLAA AM830 radio include: Process payments in Marketron and Great Plains daily; apply payments to contracts and invoices in Marketron; prepare monthly invoices for clients; update contracts in Marketron; enter journal entries in Great Plains.

Please note: The internship program is designed as an educational experience for qualified students or recent graduates and does not constitute a contract of employment. Company employee benefits, including but not limited to vacation, sick days, bonus or health and welfare plans are not available to participants in the internship program. Angels Baseball - 2015 Internships - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (Anaheim, CA)

The following departments may require an intern for the duration of the internship year starting in January of 2015.

Corporate Sales/Sponsorship, Marketing, Media Relations, Community Relations, Stadium/Ballpark Operations, Special Events

 Interns are paid hourly in the program and will work up to 40 regular business hours per week for up to a year. Applicants must be able to work flexible and some unusual hours during the team’s season including nights and weekends. Listed below are brief descriptions for the various departments:

Corporate Sponsorship
The Corporate Sponsorship Intern will assist the team’s Sponsorship Services Managers in ensuring adherence to sponsor contract provisions, including monitoring merchandise inventory, execution of promotions and planning/execution of special events, which includes game day responsibilities; act as a sponsor contact responding and fulfilling any request made by the sponsor; maintain records for all sponsor activities, tasks and accomplishments; assist Corporate Account Executives with assembling client presentations; and assist with general operation of the Sponsorship Service Department. Intermediate working knowledge of PowerPoint and previous experience with Photoshop is a plus.

Marketing
The Marketing Intern will assist with the implementation of assigned in-venue promotion set-up and game day promotion preparation, distribution, and coordination; track, coordinate and manage assigned website copy communication with web editor; manage assigned project work related to design and production of sales and marketing collateral and merchandise materials; assist with Kids Membership Club solicitations, registration drive and membership fulfillment; assist in coordinating media promotions with local radio, TV and print outlets participating on-site; support Marketing staff with administrative duties; take lead on annual Fan Appreciation Day prize procurement including solicitations, prize distribution coordination and fulfillment; actively participate in the creative development process.

In addition, candidate may be strongly considered if he/she has:

·        Basic skills in graphic design (print, video and web graphics) with knowledge to navigate a Mac operating system and manipulate Photoshop design software

·        Basic idea of design concepts for the purpose of assisting comp presentation preparations

·        Basic visualization skills and knowledge of multimedia

·        Prior event management experience preferred

Community Relations / Angels Baseball Foundation
Both the Community Relations Intern and the Angels Foundation Intern will work closely with the Chairman and the Senior Director of Community Relations in organizing programs and charitable fundraising events such as Light the Night and the 5K & Fun Run; assist with coordinating the golf tournament; sort, and process fan mail; handle message requests for the scoreboard; and handle various administrative tasks.

·        The Community Relations Intern will also coordinate monthly donations, handle merchandise requests, and coordinate the Angels Brick Program

·        The Angels Foundation Intern will also work on Angels Baseball Foundation grants, assist with authentic sales / memorabilia auctions, and maintain the Monthly Event calendar

Media Relations
Primary responsibilities for the Media Relations Intern will include maintaining and distributing daily newspaper and magazine clips, daily gathering, preparation and dissemination of pre-game information including rosters, lineups, game notes and releases. The intern will: assist with press box game management; participate in writing and production of publications and organizing photographs; work with media staff in notifying media members of breaking news and handling daily media written correspondence and fan/media phone inquiries; handle extensive statistical research projects for media and coaching staffs; and work with Publications Manager and Broadcasting Manager on occasion.

Stadium/Ballpark Operations
It is expected that the intern contribute to the overall department efficiency by assisting in the daily administration of all events at Angel Stadium. Intern will assist department in the planning and organization of all events at Angel Stadium which includes helping the Event Manager in preparing detailed event memos used by all departments at Angels Baseball. They will also assist in preparing parking lists for both Angel Stadium Events and Angel’s games; act as a contact for all third-party companies at Angel Stadium; issues TV crew credentials and TV booth assignments at Angel Stadium during Angel games; assist guest relations and promotions departments as necessary; and performs a variety of other duties associated with the efficient management of the stadium.

Special Events

The Special Events Intern will work directly with the Manager of Event Sales and Service to provide seamless customer service to internal and external special event clients; create and oversee event memos and event setup; create event diagrams in accordance with Angel Stadium space and rental requirements; execute settlements once the event is completed; conduct site visits for potential and contracted clients; execute pregame special events inside Angel Stadium; execute non game-day events at Angel Stadium; maintain client files; assist in client email and phone correspondence; and assist in online marketing related to special events.

Summary:

Provides event and administrative support to Event Manager - Metropolitan Hospitality, on various types of events including, corporate and social functions, trade shows, seminars, or any other type of special events. The internship is a paid position, and will span from October through December of this year. The intern should expect to work on a full-time schedule (35-40 hours/week).


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing all non-game day events.
  • General office duties: Draft letters, filing, mailings, faxing, copying, organize binders. Ability to, if asked: Answer phones, make travel arrangements, maintain calendar, etc.
  • Type and organize event documents (Event notes, post event notes, contracts, daily updates, floor plans and maps, etc.)
  • Create checklists for all events and fulfill checklist items.
  • Help oversee department access, parking passes, and guest directions.
  • Maintain and update client/partner mailing and email lists.
  • Assist with research and possible development of events at Citi Field.
  • Create agendas and notes for weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Light manual labor including carrying boxes, pushing hand trucks, and setting up directional signage.
  • Assist with all functions of metropolitan hospitality.

Requirements:

  • Completed or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of hospitality experience preferred.
  • Able to work through the end of all Metropolitan Hospitality events.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative, detailed-oriented “people person” capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team-oriented, extremely motivated and able to follow instructions and work independently.

The Baseball Operations Department of the Pittsburgh Pirates is seeking enthusiastic individuals with a high degree of ambition and professionalism to fill an exciting position within the Pirates organization.  Due to the value and responsibility of this position, the ideal candidate will be mature, responsible, and knowledgeable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

- Charting (logging pitch type, location, and event for each pitched play) approximately 2 recorded games per day. The charting will be performed using a video scouting computer program.

- Completing baseball research reports on varies topics and putting together statistical spread sheets.

- Copying and distributing scouting reports, data reports, and statistical information to players and coaching staff. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

The Pirates are looking for interns with prior baseball experience which may consist of:

*Working within a baseball front office on any level.

*Playing baseball on the collegiate or professional level.

*Coaching baseball on a high school or higher level.

Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Intern of Human Resources assists the HR Department with Recruiting, Compliance, Benefits, Performance Management, and Compensation related activities as needed.

Duration of Internship: November, 2014 to May, 2015

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with Seasonal Employee recruitment.
  • Assists with projects such as updating handbook, checking data integrity, etc.

  • Maintains personnel and benefit files and other HR records in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as the Nationals Document Retention Policy.

  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Previous HR experience required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
