Job Purpose:The Reds are looking for seasonal employees responsible for the execution of a new feature at Great American Ball Park, Fan Zone Carnival Games. If you are outgoing and like to work with people, this is the job for you! Responsibilities include interacting with fans, managing inventory, and creating a fun environment at Great American Ball Park.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver top notch customer service to all fans including answering questions and resolving issues
  • Fully understand the rules and prizes associated with each game and be able to explain them to participants
  • Maintain appropriate levels of stock and assist in managing prize inventory
  • Handle cash transactions
  • Keep games and displays organized, neat, and clean at all times
  • Foster a family friendly environment and work closely with kids
  • Maintain a fun and enthusiastic attitude at all times

Experience, Education and Licensure:

  • Must be outgoing and comfortable interacting with fans
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, energetic personality are required
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to provide quick and professional responses in any situation
  • Must be reliable, punctual, courteous
  • Good listening skills, and ability to work with limited oversight

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and be available for a majority of Reds home games

Game Day Ticket Sales Internship - Cincinnati Reds (Cincinnati, Oh)

Job Title:Ticket Operations Internship

Job Summary:

The Cincinnati Reds Ticketing Department is seeking several dedicated and team oriented individuals to fill game day roles within the department. In this seasonal sales position, you will actively solicit and sell All You Can Eat vouchers, wrist bands, or tickets along with the Handlebar at the Riverfront Club tickets on game days to fans at Great American Ball Park. This may include but is not limited to greeting current All You Can Eat customers to the game, explaining the All You Can Eat process, and showing prospective fans the Handlebar at the Riverfront Club.  Excellent communication skills are required, as is the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed. Previous sales and customer service experience is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to sell and up-sell All You Can Eat passes, wrist bands, or tickets along with the Handlebar at the Riverfront Club access tickets to fans on game days.

  • Run the redemption process of getting wrist bands to All You Can Eat customers who have purchased the voucher, wrist bands, or tickets before the game.   

  • Responsible for working on a computerized ticketing system

  • Administrative duties as assigned

  • Handle all facets of work associated with incoming customer inquiries for the All You Can Eat (passes) and the Handlebar at the Riverfront Club tickets. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Experience, Education, and Licensure:

  • Strong sales focus: project positive, helpful attitude and willingness to go above and beyond
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal, & face to face) and active listening skills
  • Must be proficient in data entry and detail oriented

 Work Environment:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment however employee may have “game-day” responsibilities where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

Trackman Operator Intern - Pittsburgh Pirates - West Virginia Black Bears (Morgantown, WV)

Job Summary: Operator will be responsible for running Trackman system at the Pittsburgh Pirates' affiliate (West Virginia Black Bears) during each home game

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Responsible for setting up rosters and telling the story of what happened on evey single pitch.
  • Track/chart information for the entire game – monitoring the system and making any changes throughout the game (i.e. roster changes, defensive substitutions, etc.)
  • Responsible for fixing any errors, uploading the game to the Trackman system, and running data and reports for coaches/front office staff

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work all home games (Being within one hour's drive highly preferred)
  • Previous experience with Trackman System is preferred but not required
  • Must have strong attention to detail, ability to communicate well with others, and have a passion for baseball

TrackMan Analytics/Operations Internship - TrackMan Baseball (Stamford, CT)

Description:
Join TrackMan’s team as an Analytics/Operations Intern for TrackMan Baseball, a US based sports technology firm. You will take on a critical role in a small, fast moving entrepreneurial company that is breaking new ground in sports.

In this position, you will primarily be responsible for reviewing TrackMan data from a significant number of MLB, Minor League baseball, NCAA stadiums and numerous amateur tournaments during the 2016 baseball season. You will also have the opportunity to perform statistical analysis as directed.

We are hiring on a rolling basis, and the internship wraps up at the conclusion of the Major League baseball season, with the opportunity to stay on for further projects. Candidates with only summer availability will also be considered for a shorter term internship.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to break into the baseball community and get experience with data available exclusively to professional baseball teams.  Full training is provided and you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with members of the TrackMan staff and interface with our partner teams.  Weekend and evening availability is important.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of baseball
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work well with others

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of databases, SQL, and R statistical software
  • Experience working with large baseball related data-sets.

Python or other scripting language experience is a plus.

Intern, Promotions & Events - Washington Nationals (Washington, DC)

Summary:

The intern position is an integral part of the Promotions & Special Events department, as the individual to fill this role will be exposed to and relied upon to assist with a variety of marketing initiatives to include: Jr. Nationals Kids Club, Promotional Giveaways, MLB All-Star Balloting, Fan Appreciation, On-Field Photo Day and numerous theme nights.

  • Assist in all promotional activities related to home games

  • Assist with organization and maintenance of promotional inventory for the Marketing dept

  • Assisting in the distribution of promotional items on game days

  • Assisting with the youth marketing initiatives including Jr. Nationals Kids Club and Kids Run the Bases.  Must be present for Sunday home games.

  • Serve as a liaison to fans at the Jr. Nationals Kids Club table on Sunday home games

  • Assist in the procurement of tickets, credentials and parking for game-day requests

  • Assist in the Major League Baseball All-Star balloting process

  • Attending and assisting club sponsored and off-site marketing events

  • Assist with planning and execution of Winterfest, to be held in December 2016

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Currently enrolled as a under graduate or graduate student of an accredited College or University and have completed 1 semester, or a recent graduate within the last 6 months.

Intern, Guest Experience - Washington Nationals (Washington, DC)

Summary:

The Washington Nationals are currently seeking a Guest Experience Intern for the 2016 season. The Intern’s primary responsibilities will be assisting the Guest Experience team on various projects.  They are needed to help ensure that various tasks are completed during the season within a timely manner.
