Internship Requirements:

* Must be a junior, senior or within one year after graduation or postgraduate student with preferred majors of Graphic Design, Marketing/Advertising, Communication, Business or related field, pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university. Primary Duties:

* Design projects as assigned, including flyers, ads, vouchers, corporate sales mocks, etc.

* Collaborate with team members to brainstorm creative ideas that contribute to the direction of Marketing and Communication initiatives

* Saving, filing and preparing/sending files according to established technical specifications

* Providing support to other team members when required

Qualifications:

* Strong understanding of design techniques and print production processes

* Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite CC and Microsoft Office on MAC platform

* Ability to multi-task and still complete projects in a timely manner, often under tight and quick deadlines.

* Ability to work individually or as part of a group, all while maintaining what’s best for the team

Intern, Social Media - New York Mets (Flushing, NY)

The New York Mets are seeking a full-time Social Media Intern to work in the Marketing & Communications Department. The ideal candidate is a creative, fun person that has a great understanding of how to successfully use social media to help drive the team’s business goals. This person will assist in planning and executing the Mets social media strategy for the 2016 season.  Technology geeks, media buffs and followers of sports culture who are well-organized and able handle an extensive workload are encouraged to keep reading. 

Responsibilities

  • Help manage the Mets social media strategy including but not limited to content planning for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Vine, LinkedIn, SnapChat and Google+
  • Assist in developing creative content that will increase engagement and interactions  
  • Help create and schedule content for all social media platforms
  • Utilize social media tracking tools to produce weekly reports that evaluate the performance and effectiveness of Mets social media campaigns.  Feel comfortable making educated recommendations based on these results
  • Monitor and track Mets-related activity across all relevant social media platforms
  • Must be familiar with emerging forms of social media and read leading industry publications that discuss industry trends and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of baseball (bonus if you have a deep understanding of the Mets)

 

Qualifications

  • 1-2 year(s) professional experience in a media/marketing company or related business
  • Previous internship experience in social media with marketing focus
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while simultaneously managing multiple projects in varying stages
  • Passion for, and understanding of, leading and emerging social media platforms and analytics
  • Ability to analyze social media data and turn results into actionable information
  • Highly effective internal and external communicator with exceptional oral, written and presentation skills
  • Should have social media business experience with established platforms including: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Vine, LinkedIn and Google+

Special Events Intern - St. Louis Cardinals (St. Louis, MO)

Summary of Responsibilities:

Do you love to throw parties, and even more so on someone else’s dime? If you’re hospitality focused and customer service oriented then the Special Events Internship just may be the party you need to crash. You will assist the Special Events team in selling, coordinating, and managing the execution of internal and external special events.  You will  learn how a Special Events department operates, and then apply that knowledge in your chosen field of education.  Currently the department hosts over 400 events and photo sessions per year.  You must be available for days, nights, and weekends. The internship is from mid-August through early December.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Assist in both the production of events and the sales and marketing of special events venues at Busch Stadium for non-game day events.
  • Communicate with current and prospective clients by e-mail and phone and be involved in planning small client meetings.
  • Support the department coordinators in event production and will serve as onsite staff at many events.
  • Manage the department’s event equipment, photo library and other department physical and electronic resources.
  • May conduct research projects to gain market insight.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Current enrollment in an accredited program at a College or University with a degree emphasis in Hospitality Management, Public Relations.
  • Experience with direct client contact and data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

2017 Internship - Player Development - Washington Nationals (West Palm Beach, FL)

Summary:

Contribute to Washington Nationals Baseball Operations for the 2017 season as one of our highly valued interns. We’re looking for dynamic individuals who can contribute to our Player Development operation in our first season at the new complex in West Palm Beach, Florida. The internship runs from February 1st through November 1st, and will include exposure to Spring Training, Extended Spring Training, Gulf Coast League, and Instructional League. The position will work closely with Player Development executives, Minor League coaching staff, and professional baseball players. Decisions regarding the position will not be made until the Fall and Winter of 2016 and applicants being considered should not expect to be contacted before the end of the 2016 baseball season

The Player Development internship includes an emphasis on assignments related to the Nationals farm system and development of professional players. We value candidates with playing experience, familiarity with minor league baseball, and/or Spanish language skills.

  • Assist Minor League coaching staff with various projects including advance reports and player transactions
  • Compile and distribute daily and monthly reports for Baseball Operations

This internship is for the 2017 season and typically spans from Opening Day to November 1st. The Major League Operations internship includes assisting the Baseball Operations Department with day-to-day assignments along with long term projects centered on roster management, salary arbitration, transactions, and the economics of baseball. Highly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are strongly preferred, as are a degree in economics, statistics, or mathematics, work experience in finance or consulting, and a demonstrated interest and understanding of publicly available sabermetrics research and the economics of baseball.

Summary:

We’re looking for talented individuals who can contribute to the Nationals by specializing in work related to Advance Scouting. This internship is for the 2017 season and typically spans from Opening Day to November 1st. The Advance Scouting internship includes assisting the Advance Scouting department with preparing and organizing the Advance Report for Nationals’ opponents. This report provides information on opposing players and teams and requires attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. The position also works closely with video.

The intern’s main responsibility will be to assist the R&D department with input, cleaning, and processing of baseball data into proprietary databases. Candidates must have significant experience with R and SQL, as well as an interest in publicly available sabermetrics research and data science.
