The Community Engagement Intern will assist the New York Mets Community Outreach & External Affairs Department in the development and execution of the Mets Community Engagements plan for the 2016-2017 season.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for handling the club’s Commissioner’s tickets program, managing and vetting ticket requests from non-profits and other deserving organizations
  • Responsible for responding and handling donation requests that come via written correspondence and online forms
  • Assist with all Mets Foundation requests along with organizing/keeping track of all donations given to the foundation
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills and an engaging personality; will be working extensively with groups and individuals over the phone and in person

Summary:

The Nationals Youth Baseball Academy is a 501(c)3 organization that uses the sports of baseball and softball to foster character development, academic achievement and improved health among youth from underserved communities in Washington DC. The Academy seeks a dedicated intern to assist with the continued build out of its development operations.

The right candidate will have an interest in advancement, non-profit management, project design and proposal / grant writing, and prospect research, outreach and communications. As the Academy is a relatively new venture, so too are the development operations of the Academy -- the intern will be part of a team putting together new systems, processes and policies that enhance the ability of the Academy to communicate its story to potential supporters and secure resources in support of its mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of a prospect management database, including tracking outreach / communication to existing and potential funders.

Baseball/Softball Coach - Youth Baseball Academy - Washington Nationals (Washington, DC)

Summary:

The Coach Across America (CAA) coaches are responsible for the supervision of scholar-athletes, baseball/softball-specific skill instruction, providing a safe environment, and serving as a positive role model for all scholar-athletes. This position’s primary responsibility will be implementing the baseball/softball and physical fitness programming for a team of eighteen (18) 3rd through 7th grade scholar-athletes. The CAA Coach will also interact with the Academy’s entire scholar-athlete population and their families. CAA Coach is expected to be at the Academy for after-school programming Monday 3pm to 6pm Tuesday through Thursday 2:30pm to 7:30pm and Friday 4:00pm to 6:00pm. CAA Coach is also expected to be at the Academy for Summer programming during the hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

  • Be positive role model at all times
  • Lead (summer 2016) or help lead (spring 2016) a team of 18 scholar- athletes

2017 Internship - Player Development - Washington Nationals (West Palm Beach, FL)

Summary:

Contribute to Washington Nationals Baseball Operations for the 2017 season as one of our highly valued interns. We’re looking for dynamic individuals who can contribute to our Player Development operation in our first season at the new complex in West Palm Beach, Florida. The internship runs from February 1st through November 1st, and will include exposure to Spring Training, Extended Spring Training, Gulf Coast League, and Instructional League. The position will work closely with Player Development executives, Minor League coaching staff, and professional baseball players. Decisions regarding the position will not be made until the Fall and Winter of 2016 and applicants being considered should not expect to be contacted before the end of the 2016 baseball season

The Player Development internship includes an emphasis on assignments related to the Nationals farm system and development of professional players. We value candidates with playing experience, familiarity with minor league baseball, and/or Spanish language skills.

Summary:
