IT Game Day Systems Support Intern - Cincinnati Reds (Cincinnati, OH)

Job Title: Game Day Systems Support
Reports To: Vice President of Information Technology
FLSA: Hourly, Non exempt
Job Purpose: This position provides PC hardware & software support to the entire organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary contact for troubleshooting PC hardware, printers and software malfunctions and connectivity
  • Perform hardware and software installations and/or configuration changes for PC/LAN equipment
  • Identify areas for and assist in the development and presentation of user training
  • Assist in the evaluation of needs and recommendation of hardware and software solutions for all departments
  • Interact with vendor technical staff to resolve complex problems and get additional assistance when required
  • Document incoming problem reports, problem diagnosis, escalation and closure of all incidents
  • Share in Game day functions
  • Trouble shoot printer, copier and scanners
  • All other duties as assigned

Experience, Education and Licensure

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Windows, Office, Mac OS, Networking, TCP/IP, Basic Hardware, Basic wiring, printer, laptop, and desktop troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of imaging computers and loading and troubleshooting software conflicts
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Able to communicate effectively with management and staff.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment however employee may have “game-day” responsibilities where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Weekend work may sometimes be required
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds from the floor to desktop height

Angels Baseball - 2015 Fall Legal Intern - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (Anaheim, CA)

Angels Baseball is currently searching for a fall Intern for the Legal department.  The Intern will be paid hourly and will work up to 20 regular business hours per week. Applicants must be available to work flexible and some unusual hours during the team’s season including nights and weekends if necessary. Below is a brief description of the available opportunity:


The successful candidate will perform research on a wide variety of legal issues, engage in writing memos, briefs, and contract provisions at the direction of the supervising attorney; may attend departmental and client meetings, and other relevant meetings with supervising attorney(s).  In addition, the successful candidate may assist in the representation of the Company on various matters, including identifying and resolving legal, business and strategic issues related to general business issues, claims and liability.  The successful candidate is also expected to maintain safe work practices and perform other responsibilities/duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must currently be pursuing a Juris Doctorate (JD) in Law at an ABA accredited institution with an anticipated graduation date of May 2016 or later.
• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience conducting efficient electronic and traditional research.
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation, ethics, influence and interpersonal skills, communication and engage in continuous learning.
• Demonstrated experience identifying needs, developing action plans, and providing recommendations.

We are seeking interns with a passion for winning through mathematics, data analysis, and computation. The internship positions will be with the team’s Baseball Research and Development group in the Baseball Operations department. Start and end dates are flexible, and we will consider applicants who are available for only the summer.

Responsibilities:

The primary duties of the internship positions will include:

1. Statistical modeling and quantitative analysis of a variety of data sources, for the purpose of player evaluation, strategic decision-making, decision analysis, etc.

2. Collecting public and private data for additional analysis

3. Ad hoc queries and quantitative research in support of general Baseball Operations tasks

4. Various game-day duties, as necessary

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

1. A strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, computer science and/or engineering

2. Some experience with computer programming

3. Familiarity with a statistical software package such as R

4. Familiarity with SQL

5. Familiarity with Python or MATLAB

6. Familiarity with the online baseball research community

Summary:

The production intern is an invaluable part of our production staff. Having a highly qualified intern enables us to create even more new and improved content while also providing an incredible learning experience for the intern. The intern assists with all aspects of our game day and non-game day productions and has the opportunity to perform many of the same tasks of our full and part time staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Media Production
• Edit videos with a fast turnaround for ballpark video board, web and/or TV
• Video duplication in multiple formats
• Log and capture videos, help manage and maintain production equipment and workflow
• Assist with updating and maintaining web elements

Game Day Execution
• Assist with setup and execution of pregame and in-game elements
• Assist with setup and breakdown of cameras and equipment
• Train on multiple game day production positions

Other duties as assigned
