Job Title: Productions Intern

Job Purpose: Intern will learn the processes of live, multi-camera event productions, digital filmmaking, and

have the opportunity to work with audio production and graphic production projects. This is a

hands-on opportunity and intern will be expected to be an active participant on the production team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production assistant
  • Dubbing content to DVD
  • Assisting with all aspects of the Production department
  • Pre-production
  • Live production
  • Project management
  • Administrative work, such as organizing tapes, printing copies and scripts, and printing DVD labels
  • Based on the intern’s area of expertise, opportunities will arise, such as:
  • Working on live production crew
  • Setting up and working video shoots
  • Video graphic design
  • Editing vignettes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and/or Final Cut Editing helpful
  • Experience with ENG footage gathering a plus;
  • Capacity to handle a variety of projects in a changing environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn very quickly
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail

Promotional Events Game Day Intern - Cincinnati Reds (Cincinnati, OH)

Job Title: Promotional Events Game Day Intern

Reports To: Promotional Events Manager

Term: 2015 season (April 1, 2015 – October 31, 2015)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Focus:

Help execute game day promotions including pregame and in-game promotions, escorting mascots and staffing the Consumer Club locations.  Pregame activities include, but are not limited to, first pitches, presentations, National Anthem, Honor Guard, and the Reds Heads Run On.  In-game promotions include, but are not limited to, preparation for the fans selected for the Play Ball Kid, Skyline Chili PA Kid, Skyline Chili Shuffle, and Best Seats in the House (additional sponsor related promotions may be added as the season approaches).  Other tasks may include assisting with giveaways and prize redemptions on lucky fan giveaway days, helping with special promotions, as well as additional escort duties when special guests are present.

Assist with Corporate Sales Fulfillment group with tracking sponsor media and tickets and providing assistance with corporate sales events and proof of performance packages. Other Areas of Responsibility:

Assist with the Reds Rover field-marketing program throughout the season at various events while helping with set-up to breakdown, handing out team information, promoting team initiatives and other promotional items; work with the team mascot(s) and other Reds staff on event-by-event basis; conduct field promotions and register-to-win contests, working with Reds fans of all ages

Help with Reds events during the season. Events for 2015 include Redlegs Run, concerts, Season Ticket Holder Luncheons, Bark in the Park among others.  This also includes assisting with the events surrounding the 86th MLB All-Star Game in July.

Help with all Reds Heads Kids Club and Reds Rookies Babies Club  activities, which include autograph sessions, player Q&A session, run the bases post-game event, pre-game kids club parade and assisting in database entry

Participate as a coach with the Reds Rookie Success League for four (4) weeks in June 2015

Help on special Corporate Sales assignments including corporate fulfillment events in the Kroger Fan Zone.

Qualifications:

  • Staff members should have prior work experience in at least one business setting and one sports setting.
  • Staff members should be interested in going into sports business and should have or are pursuing an undergrad/graduate degree in a related area of study.

Preparation and follow-up work for every home game, managing the Reds Rover and handling general administrative duties:

Game day preparation responsibilities include: putting together all forms and supplies needed for each promotion, following up on game day winners, assisting with the scoreboard messages and scoreboard memories processes,  assisting with entertainment for special games, managing Fan Appreciation Day and assisting with Fan Zone entertainment. 

Managing the Rover includes the following:  researching events to attend, being proactive in scheduling appearances, driving the marketing vehicle throughout the area to various events while managing set-up to breakdown, handing out team information, promoting team initiatives and other promotional items; work with the team mascot(s) and other Reds staff on event-by-event basis; conduct field promotions and register-to-win contests, working with Reds fans of all ages; fulfill prize distribution after events, coordinating tickets and mailings to contest winners; send out post-event questionnaires to compile feedback and research; assist in design and content of Reds Rover homepage on Cincinnati Reds website; maintain vehicle with regular service checks.

Video Intern - Houston Astros Baseball Club (Houston, TX)

The Astros Minor League Video Intern will be responsible for recording each home game while charting game events at one of our affiliates. Following each game, the video and charting data will be synced using video software and then uploaded so that it is available for retrieval in Houston. The resulting video and charting data will be available for player development and scouting purposes via multiple platforms. The person in this position will work all regular season home games along with any additional playoff home games.
Baseball knowledge and simple computer skills are preferred for this position to ensure that coaching requests are understood and game charting is done correctly.
 

A Two (2) day training session will occur in Kissimmee, FL at the Houston Astros Spring Training Complex on March 9th and 10th. The first day of training will consist of lessons in proper video equipment use, game charting and data upload. The second day of training will consist of a practice session where the Intern will use their learned skills from the previous day to record, chart and upload an Astros Minor League Spring Training game. The Astros will cover all costs associated with training including the cost of flights, hotels and per diem. Interns will be compensated for hours worked during the regular season in accordance with State and Federal laws.

Angels Baseball - 2015 Graphic Design Intern - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (Anaheim, CA)

The Graphic Design internship is paid hourly in the program and will work 20-29 regular business hours per week during their internship, which will last from January 2015 to July 2015.  Listed below is a brief description of the internship:

Overview:

The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for assisting in the development of collateral, advertising, printed materials, and web graphics for the Angels. An emphasis in graphic design is required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have or be working on a college degree. Related experience of one to two years’ working in an in-house design department or agency is preferred but not required. Advance knowledge of the following is required: MacOSX, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Knowledge of Flash, Dreamweaver, and HTML is a plus. The successful candidate will possess outstanding time management, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills. The qualified candidate will also have the ability to successfully interact with all levels of personnel from senior executives to entry level employees.

2015 Internship - Guest Experience - New York Mets (Flushing, NY)

Summary:

The internship program is designed for applicants who are interested in pursuing a career in professional sports, specifically in Guest Services.

The intern will frequently assist with and eventually lead tours of the ballpark for VIP guests, along with escorting guests to various locations for pre- and in-game hospitality experiences.

Responsibilities:

Interns will assist with all responsibilities of the Guest Experience Department. This includes but is not limited to: administrative support to the department’s Customer Relationship Management and Event Staff Recognition programs, project-based support for all department staff members and real-time support to the Guest Experience event staff.  

Internship Eligibility: 

  • Must be graduating this December/January or a recent graduate of a College/University

Program Length/Schedule:

  • The approximate dates of this internship are from March 3rd through end of the season (including potential post-season games)

2015 Internship - Metropolitan Hospitality - New York Mets (Flushing, NY)

Summary:

Provides event and administrative support to Event Manager, Metropolitan Hospitality for various types of events, including: corporate and social functions, trade shows, seminars, or any other type of special event. This position is planned to run congruently with the 2015 Cardinals Season, set to start early February. 

Summary of Responsibilities:

When is the Padres intern program?
• While exact dates may vary, generally, the intern program runs from the first week of June through the first week of August (approximately 10 weeks).

How does the selection process work?
• Interested applicants should apply online through the Padres website www.padres.com under the “Job Opportunities” link at the bottom of the page.  Include a brief cover letter, no longer than one (1) page, expressing your interest in our intern program, your future career goals, and what you would bring to the Padres that makes you unique. 
• Since we take a team approach to hiring our interns, we need all interested applicants to be in our hiring database to allow the entire hiring team to review information for each applicant. This position is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the Washington Nationals Community Relations department. This internship will run for the duration of the season, mid-March through September.
