Primary Duties:

  • Handle all requests for team ticket donations and autographed merchandise

  • Maintain accurate records in donation database

  • Manage all day of game activities related to the team’s charitable efforts including scoreboard messages, community clubhouse guests and batting practice experiences

  • Assist in the production and execution of all team charitable events and community outreach programs.

  • Respond to all fan correspondences and requests for Fan Packs

  • Serve as lead for the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation 50/50 raffle at assigned games

Primary Duties:

Photography intern will maintain the organizations photography requests by sorting through and organizing all photo requests to coordinate game day photo schedules. Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must. Once photo requests have been fulfilled, this position will be in charge of distributing captioned and keyworded online galleries via Photoshelter.

The Photography intern will have the opportunity to assist on various photo shoots and document Corporate and Community events and signage as well as various pre-game activities on-field, off-site and around the ballpark.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in or a graduate of a college level photography program, or have equivalent experience.

  • Must be proficient with professional level DSLR photography equipment including an off camera flash. (Pro-level Canon and Nikon gear will be available for use)

  • Must be proficient on an Apple computer system and familiar with Photoshop CS4-CS5, Photo Mechanic and Photoshelter.

  • Must be able to work with other employees on tight deadlines with short notice on many projects.

  • Must be available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.

·   Manage ticket requests for game day staff, broadcasters and all of the D-back’s radio affiliates

·   Distribute department mail and checks

·   Request invoices for water bills, etc.

·   File paperwork according to department coding

·   Manage Radio Affiliate Agreement forms

·   Create Merchandise Packs for all radio affiliates

Angels Baseball is looking for energetic, resourceful and eager candidates to fill Internships in the following departments for the duration of the internship year starting as early as January of 2017.  Actual start dates vary based on the department.

Interns are paid hourly in the program and will work up to 40 regular business hours per week for up to a year. Applicants must be able to work flexible and some unusual hours during the team’s season including nights and weekends. Listed below are brief descriptions for the various departments:

Sponsorship Services
The Sponsorship Services Intern will assist the Corporate Sales and Sponsorship Services Department in ensuring adherence to sponsor contract provisions, including monitoring merchandise inventory, execution of promotions and planning/execution of special events, which includes game day responsibilities; act as a sponsor contact responding and fulfilling any request made by the sponsor; maintain records for all sponsor activities, tasks and accomplishments; assist Corporate Account Executives with assembling client presentations; and assist with general operation of the Sponsorship Services Department. Intermediate working knowledge of PowerPoint and previous experience with Photoshop is a plus.

Marketing 
The Marketing Intern will assist with the implementation of assigned in-venue promotion set-up and game day promotion preparation, distribution, and coordination; track, coordinate and manage assigned website copy communication with web editor; manage assigned project work related to design and production of sales and marketing collateral and merchandise materials; assist with Kids Membership Club solicitations, registration drive and membership fulfillment; assist in coordinating media promotions with local radio, TV and print outlets participating on-site; support Marketing staff with administrative duties; take lead on annual Fan Appreciation Day prize procurement including solicitations, prize distribution coordination and fulfillment; actively participate in the creative development process.

In addition, candidate may be strongly considered if he/she has:

  • Basic skills in graphic design (print, video and web graphics) with knowledge to navigate a Mac operating system and manipulate Photoshop design software
  • Basic idea of design concepts for the purpose of assisting comp presentation preparations
  • Basic visualization skills and knowledge of multimedia
  • Prior event management experience preferred

Community Relations
The Community Relations Intern will work closely with the Angels Chairman and the Senior Director of Community Relations in organizing programs and charitable fundraising events such as the 5K & Fun Run; assist with community outreach programs, kids Holiday Party at ESPN Zone and Angels Baseball Foundation fundraisers; sort, and process fan mail; handle message requests for the scoreboard; and handle various administrative tasks.  The Community Relations Intern will also coordinate monthly donations, handle merchandise requests, and coordinate the Angels Brick Program as well as coordinate grant requests for Angels Baseball Foundation.

Media Relations 
Primary responsibilities for the Media Relations Intern will include maintaining and distributing daily newspaper and magazine clips, daily gathering, preparation and dissemination of pre-game information including rosters, lineups, game notes and releases. The intern will: assist with press box game management; participate in writing and production of publications and organizing photographs; work with media staff in notifying media members of breaking news and handling daily media written correspondence and fan/media phone inquiries; handle extensive statistical research projects for media and coaching staffs; and work with Publications Manager and Broadcasting Manager on occasion.

Stadium/Ballpark Operations 
It is expected that the intern contribute to the overall department efficiency by assisting in the daily administration of all events at Angel Stadium. Intern will assist department in the planning and organization of all events at Angel Stadium which includes helping the Event Manager in preparing detailed event memos used by all departments at Angels Baseball. They will also assist in preparing parking lists for both Angel Stadium Events and Angel’s games; act as a contact for all third-party companies at Angel Stadium; issues TV crew credentials and TV booth assignments at Angel Stadium during Angel games; assist guest relations and promotions departments as necessary; and performs a variety of other duties associated with the efficient management of the stadium.

Special Events

The Special Events Intern will work directly with the Manager of Event Sales and Service to provide seamless customer service to internal and external special event clients; create and oversee event memos and event setup; create event diagrams in accordance with Angel Stadium space and rental requirements; execute settlements once the event is completed; conduct site visits for potential and contracted clients; execute pregame special events inside Angel Stadium; execute non game-day events at Angel Stadium; maintain client files; assist in client email and phone correspondence; and assist in online marketing related to special events.

The department covers all aspects of the day-to-day operations, game-day operations and staffing and all non-professional baseball events taking place at Roger Dean Stadium.

Spring Training Duties:

  • Perform a detailed daily walkthrough of the facility and surrounding areas each day
  • Assist in the training and supervision of the part-time stadium staff in all aspects of security and game-day operations
  • Assist the Event Services Coordinator in the running of all aspects of stadium operations. Included in stadium operations: security, program sales, concourse entertainment, maintenance and in-park staff
  • Help in maintaining the policies of the stadium in regards to customer service and other ballpark issues
  • Assist in leading the part-time staff in terms of customer service and in the day to day operations
  • Assist in the reconciliation of monies from other areas of the operation including parking, programs and concourse entertainment
  • Assist with selling of tickets for promotional nights, group outings and individual games
  • Assist with any team mascot or player appearances at the ballpark or in the community
  • Assist with any other events that take place at the complex
  • Assist with promotions, sales and data entry

Experience Required:

  • Must be willing to work long hours, weekends and nights
  • Must be willing to complete the internship through mid-September
  • Must have at least intermediate cash handling skills
  • Must be willing to cooperate and work well with other areas of the organization

Description: Under the direction of the Event Marketing Coordinator, the intern will observe and assist with various projects assigned by the Special Events department.

General Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
