Retail: Retail Sales Associate
Amazin' Memorabilia Game Day Sales Associate - New York Mets (Flushing, NY)

Summary:

This position within the Venue Services Department provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the retail environment. Mets Amazin’ Memorabilia provides fans with a direct link to take home a piece of the game. From selling a game-used jersey to regularly updating our inventory, this position will contribute to the overall success of the Mets Amazin’ Memorabilia program.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work at Amazin’ Memorabilia retail location before, during, and after each game to sell a wide-range of memorabilia including but not limited to game-used, team-issued, and autographed items.
  • Prepare and merchandize Amazin’ Memorabilia kiosk before each game.
  • Learn and understand market value of sports memorabilia.
  • Properly record all sales, customer inquiries/requests, and inventory adjustments.
  • Establish and expand relationships with current customers and create new relationships with additional fans.
  • Use Adobe Photoshop to create signage for store.
  • Photograph merchandise for use in publications, in-store signage, online marketing, etc.
  • Interact with fans in a professional and outgoing manner.
  • Maintain/update customer database.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of Amazin’ Memorabilia retail outlets and storage areas.
  • Suggest new items, promotions, strategies, and more to help grow the Amazin’ Memorabilia program.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must be at least a Sophomore in College.
  • Background in Sports Management, Merchandise, Marketing, Management, Sales, and/or Hospitality Services.
  • Must be able to start working select days as early as 3/13/17.
  • Must be able to work all remaining Mets home games from approximately 3 hours before first pitch to 1 hour after the final out; approximately a 7 hour daily shift.
  • Must be available to work select non-gamedays when needed.
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be team-oriented, out-going, extremely motivated and able to work independently.
  • Professional demeanor with strong organizational, planning, and communication skills. 
  • Must be extremely flexible and open to learn new skills.
  • Must be able to open and close kiosk, including lifting/pulling down a roll-up gate, receiving of money, and running standard End Of Day register reconciliation.
  • Must be able to lift merchandise that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of MS Office software required, with emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of retail point-of-sale software, specifically Retail Pro.

Description:

The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking a Part-Time Authentication Associates. The position reports directly to the Manager of Authentication. This position will be responsible for running the cashier station for all in-game sales of authenticated merchandise at the Oakland Coliseum.

Responsibilities:
 
• Ensure that all merchandise is properly displayed prior to gates opening for each game
• Maintain a clean and organized area
• Provide information to fans that may have questions about game-used and autographed memorabilia
• Handle transactions and turn in all money, credit cards receipts and sales reports at the conclusion of the game
• Put all products away after the conclusion of the game
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times 
• Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications/Requirements:

• Knowledge of past and current Oakland Athletics players as well as other players around Major League Baseball is required
• Previous sales and customer service experience is a plus
• Must be outgoing, friendly and the ability to work with others
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and left up to 30lbs
• Available to work all Oakland Athletics home games, including mid-week afternoons, weekends and holidays

Retail: Retail Sales Associate
50/50 Raffle Ticket Seller - Washington Nationals (Washington, DC)

Summary:

The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle program is seeking 50/50 Raffle Ticket Sellers to sell 50/50 Raffle tickets at every Friday, Saturday and Sunday home game and other select 2017 Nationals home games from April until October. Qualified employees may also be eligible to work additional hours in other Nationals Guest Experience positions.  50/50 Raffle tickets are sold from gates open (2.5 hours before first pitch) until the middle of the 7th inning.

The 50/50 Raffle offers fans a chance to win big cash prizes while supporting Washington Nationals Dream Foundation 's cornerstone programs in the District of Columbia. One lucky fan with the winning ticket number could win 50% of the Raffle proceeds, while the other half of the proceeds benefits the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy and Washington Nationals Dream Foundation initiatives that aim to serve District of Columbia residents.

The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sell 50/50 Raffle tickets using a touch screen electronic system to Nationals Park guests
  • Spread awareness of the 50/50 Raffle and Washington Nationals Dream Foundation
  • Accurately handle large amounts of cash transactions and distribution of raffle tickets, which are reconciled after each shift
    • The 50/50 Raffle is a cash-only program
  • Approach guests pre-game and in-game with sales pitches, 50/50 Raffle information or Washington Nationals Dream Foundation information
  • Respond to questions guests may ask about the 50/50 Raffle or Washington Nationals Dream Foundation
  • Responsibly deposit cash each shift and return all deposit slips to the 50/50 Raffle Supervisor at the end of each shift
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma/equivalent or equivalent military experience.

  • Prior cash handling experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to interact positively with a large fan base and actively engage all guests.

  • Must be well spoken and confident in approaching all fans as potential ticket buyers and WNDF supporters.

  • Have strong interpersonal skills and able to provide excellent customer service and hospitality.

Summary:

The Retail Sales Associate delivers an exceptional fan experience at Nationals Park by achieving goals related to sales, customer service, inventory maintenance, merchandising and loss prevention.

•Assure protection of company assets while adhering to corporate retail loss prevention policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

•High School Diploma/equivalent or equivalent military experience
•At least two years of retail sales experience. Preferred in a sports and entertainment concession environment.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions

•Must be able to work 80% of the game days and events at Nationals Park during the season.
•Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
•Positive attitude and strong work ethic is a must.
•Excellent Communication Skills.
•Ability to work independently and responsibly in a fast paced environment.
•Computer knowledge and/or experience including but not limited to retail point of sale registers.
•Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours based upon business needs.
