Finance: Controller/Director of Finance
Angels Baseball - Director, Finance - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (Anaheim, CA)

Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration, the Director of Finance is responsible for directing the financial functions of the Club and related entities in accordance with company objectives and policies, industry standards and regulatory agencies, as appropriate.  The Director guides and manages the overall financial operations including financial accounting, budgeting and forecasting for the Club and serves as a strategic consultant to Senior Leadership.


Duties:

  • Daily management of the Accounting Department, which includes all general ledger activity, payroll, accounts payable, account receivable and issuance of monthly and annual internal financial statements.
  • Supervises treasury functions, including daily cash flow reporting, investment guidance and banking relationship management including debt covenant reporting and compliance.
  • Responsible for the preparation of annual independent financial budget and internal monthly financial analysis with reporting of operating results against budget.
  • Responsible for the annual financial audit and financial statement preparation.
  • Oversees all tax matters, including federal and state tax returns, payroll returns, sales and use tax returns and any associated audits.
  • Ensures accurate interpretation and analysis of financial results, while also providing analyses, interpretation, and justification of budgets, forecasts and long-range plans.
  • Prepare short and long term financial forecasts of financial performance
  • Responsible for financial reporting and audits to Major League Baseball as well as benchmarking analysis with other Major League Baseball clubs.
  • Financial monitoring and review of all contracts (City of Anaheim lease, stadium, players, broadcast, sponsor, ticketing), including approval, billing/collection, payment, revenue sharing/tax compliance.
  • Advise on commission play structure and calculate sales commissions.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and internal controls including business and travel expense, ticketing, purchasing and capital assets.
  • Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems.
  • Participate in the development of the company's plans and programs as a tactical partner by providing timely and accurate analyses of budgets, project proposals and business trends in order to assist the Senior Vice President of Finance/Administration, President and other Senior Executives.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.  CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • An experienced leader and financial executive with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the sports field.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards.
  • Expert in accounting practices, budgeting and financial operations.
  • A strategic thinker with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • Highly organized, professional and motivated leader.
  • Strong effective communicator in writing and in interpersonal communications

Facility Operations/Security: Maintenance
Angels Baseball - Painter - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (Anaheim, CA)

Angels Baseball L.P. is currently seeking a Painter working full time hours (up to 40 hours week) on a temporary basis.  Length of assignment is TBD but will be less than 1 year.  This is a union position.  Please include your resume when applying for this position. 

Overview:

Under minimal supervision, the Painter prepares, paints, and repairs various surfaces and building materials at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Duties:

  • Clean, prime and paint all types of surfaces, patch cracks and repair damages
  • Repair and replace vinyl or ceramic tile and covebase
  • Paint with brushes, rollers, airless gun, pot gun and cup gun
  • Uses various types of paint and coating materials
  • Climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Perform other job related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Journey level experience as maintenance painter
  • Knowledge of the principles of painting and refinishing
  • Ability to safely and efficiently use painting equipment, match colors and prepare surfaces for application of paint and other coatings
  • Knowledge of EPA regulations and safe disposal of hazardous waste materials
  • Knowledge of various types of coatings and sealants, and specific requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, use both arms and hands, lift up to 100 pounds, work above ground, tolerate odors
  • Ability to learn and apply all applicable safety precautions and requirements

Duties:

  • Performs welding and simple carpentry fabrication and repair
  • Maintains and repairs water lines, water tanks and heaters, faucets and  flush valves, pressure relief valves, pumps, sinks and toilets
  • Repairs plumbing stoppages and broken pipes, including clearing drain lines
  • Repairs and replaces doors, door hinges, door locks and glass in doors and windows
  • Operates medium and light powered hand tools
  • Performs miscellaneous repairs to concrete, tile, roofs and floors
  • Inspects fire sprinkler systems
  • Repairs restaurant equipment and food service facilities
  • Performs a variety of basic repairs during operating hours
  • Performs other job related duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the principles of plumbing, general construction, and carpentry
  • Experience in plumbing repairs and/or plumbing installation
  • Experience in welding
  • Skills in general construction repair techniques.
  • Ability to use both hands, arms and legs, stoop, bend and lift up to 100-pounds, maintain proper balance, stand and walk, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined or high spaces.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid  Driver’s license.

Sales & Marketing: Ticket Sales
Angels Baseball - Seasonal Inside Sales Representative - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (Anaheim, CA)

Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Representative will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious client acquisition and revenue growth objectives. Inside Sales Reps must be comfortable making and receiving dozens of calls per day, working with assigned Account Executives, generating interest, qualifying prospects and closing sales.  Compensation is largely based on sales performance through hourly rate, commission and bonuses. Please note that this is a temporary assignment working full-time hours per week.  

Responsibilities:

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls and emails to sell season seats, mini-plans, group events, luxury suite rentals, individual tickets, and spring training packages.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements to assist with selling products and upgrading packages.
  • Provide quality customer service for all clients.
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate account executives for further development and closure.
  • Close sales and achieve monthly quotas.
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest.
  • Team with Account Executives to build pipeline and close deals.
  • Responds to general questions about ticket availability and pricing, game times and dates, stadium policies and procedures, etc.
  • Transacts and fulfills guest ticketing requests by suggestive selling the best ticket product for their individual needs
  • Processes payments of single game ticket orders and liaises with the Ticketing Office as needed
  • Works from and maintains database of active and previous ticket buyers
  • Identifies prospective buyers to elevates up sell opportunities for ticket package sales

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma with 2-4 years sales or customer service experience (retail, direct, corporate); advanced degree (Bachelor or Associates) is preferred.
  • Outbound calling skills and sports marketing are preferred
  • Strong phone presence comfort making/closing sales transaction via phone
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
  • Must be technologically literate and able to use/learn a variety of computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, Pro Venue and Sales Force.
  • Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to follow through
  • Possess ability to demonstrate exceptional guest service skills over the phone and in-person
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Angels Baseball - Seasonal Security Host - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (Anaheim, CA)

OVERVIEW

Angels Baseball is required by Major League Baseball to enforce all of the rules and regulations concerning security. This Security Host position is directly responsible for any person that enters ballpark areas and strict enforcement of the MLB guidelines. This is a non-union position.  

DUTIES

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Security patrols
  • Access / gate controls
  • Crowd control
  • Directing traffic
  • Conducting visual inspections of bags or packages
  • Responding to radio calls as needed, calling in safety concerns and completing visual inspections and observing occurrences of areas being patrolled. 

Position will ensure that MLB and Angels Baseball security standards are met; will be familiar with lists, guides and reference material provided by MLB; will communicate with stairway and elevator usher staff to ensure limited access to the secured park locations; and will handle other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma
  • Prior journey level security guard experience desired
  • CPR certification is a plus
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy, work well with others; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with fellow workers and supervisors, strong oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, remaining calm yet tactful when required.
  • Must be observant and have the ability to think clearly in emergencies; giving accurate instructions and information to others.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends, holidays and evenings
  • Available for shift that start at 4:30pm for 7pm games, 3:30pm for 6pm games and 10:30am for 12:35pm games (Sundays)
