Baseball Operations: Player Personnel/Scout

Summary of Responsibilities:

The purpose of this position is to assist the Clubhouse Manager with on-field and off-field duties including set up of player equipment, restocking coolers, and laundry.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Assist players with on-field/off-field equipment needs: set up equipment in appropriate slots, pick up/replace equipment after hitting.
  • Prep bench for games, includes stocking coolers, gum, sunflower seeds, etc.; Maintain coolers and bench during games.
  • Launder towels, uniforms, and clothing as needed for the Clubhouse.
  • Assist in packing/unpacking team equipment and baggage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Current High School student (at least 16 y.o.) with GPA 3.0 or higher; College student with GPA 3.0 or higher preferred
  • 1 year experience playing baseball, team manager or general support of the team
  • Knowledge of the game of baseball
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Summary of Responsibilities:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the daily tasks of the Clubhouse kitchen. This position will be located at our Jupiter, FL facility, is seasonal and will end 3/31/17.

 

Essential Functions of the Job: 

  • Stocking of dining room coolers (including water)

  • Keeping the hot and cold buffet filled and orderly

  • Keeping all snacks, dry goods, etc. stocked 

  • Keeping dining room clean, neat and organized

  • Getting the dining preset for the day

  • Daily Inventory of all items in the dining room

  • Running food from kitchen to dining room

  • Putting away daily deliveries in proper places from vendors

  • Keeping kitchen coolers and back storage room clean, neat and organized

  • Keeping outside area around kitchen truck and dining area clean, neat and organized

  • Dishwashing in the kitchen trailer

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Summary of Responsibilities:

This part-time seasonal position will sell and service incoming ticket sales calls, emails, and chats while providing the highest level of customer service. The agent will act as a problem solver, working with the Ticket Sales department to resolve any customer issues.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Provide excellent customer service via all inbound portals of communication including but not limited to phone, email, and chat to maximize revenue for 2017 ticket sales, through excellent customer service and repeat customers.
  • Communicate and cooperate with Ticket Services to respond to customer inquiries and resolve customer issues in order to sell tickets at a higher per cap rate than other channels (web, windows, kiosks).
  • Cultivate new business and strengthen current associations with existing accounts through inbound sales.  Encourage effective communication to increase number of relationships.
  • Work in tandem with the Ticket Development, Marketing, Season, Premium, and Group Sales departments to establish a seamless transition from sales to service.  Assist with inbound call volume to provide an opportunity for Ticket Development to perform outbound sales calls.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • 1 Year experience in sales and/or sports industry.
  • Knowledge of Ticket.com Pro Venue ticketing platform.

Summary of Responsibilities

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Greet our guests and assist them throughout the game to ensure their visit is safe, clean, fun and family-friendly.
  • Patrol aisles, concourses and other areas, maintaining a sharp watch for potential problems. If necessary, intervene and correct the situation before it interferes with other guests’ enjoyment of the event. 
  • Distribute promotional items, perform bag inspections at the gates, monitor the walk-through metal detectors, and provide secondary screening/wanding of guests when they enter the ballpark.  Busch Stadium is a smoke-free facility; however, these positions and certain others may subject employees to second hand smoke. 

To accomplish these objectives, employees must communicate well and be friendly, knowledgeable, well-groomed, assertive and unafraid to intervene in conflict situations.  You must also be in good physical condition, as the job entails a great deal of walking, climbing stairs and standing on concrete surfaces in both cold and extremely hot weather.  Please understand that you are hired to serve the guest.  There will be nights when your responsibilities prevent you from seeing the game. 

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be available to work at least 90% of all Cardinals home weekend games (36 of the 40 Friday-Sunday games) and at least 80% of all Cardinals home weekday games (32 of the 41 Monday-Thursday games)
  • Must be able to arrive up to three hours prior to game time
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to be around second hand smoke
