Communications: Media/Public Relations Servicing
Publications Intern - St. Louis Cardinals (St. Louis, MO)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Summary of Responsibilities:
The primary goal of this position is to assist the Publications team in the editing process, writing departmental copy, and customer service in support of the Cardinals Publications. This position will learn how a Publications department operates and to utilize that knowledge in the publications field or a related area.  

Essential Functions of the Job:
• Take customer orders by phone, recording contact and credit card
• Pull online orders
• Prepare mailing lists, organize and sort mail, mail customer orders, mail renewal letters and other special offer letters, sort and organize past order forms for storage
• Assist in the transport of publications’ products in and around Busch Stadium and to and from local vendors
• Assist in the editing process, displaying knowledge of the AP Stylebook and competent editing and grammar skills
• Assist in the writing of departmental copy, requiring occasional interviews with current and past players
• Assist staff with other special projects as instructed by publisher
• The candidate must also be eligible to receive school credit upon completion of the internship.
• This is a part time position for the Fall Semester and candidate must be available for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.  

Education and Experience Preferred:
• Current enrollment as a Sophmore or higher in an accredited program at a College or University required;  emphasis in Journalism, English, or Communications.
• Must have prior work experience, preferably in the realm of customer service.
• Be a fan of the Cardinals and display some knowledge of the current team.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Mac, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pick up boxes (approximately 20lbs each) and push carts around the stadium.
 
Minimum Education and Experience:

• Current enrollment in an accredited program at a College or University, at least Sophomore year.
• Must have prior work experience.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Duties will include greeting guests at the first floor info desk or front desk of the museum, selling tickets, checking-in groups, scanning tickets, resolving ticket issues, answering phone calls and emails, and providing top-notch customer service.

Essential Functions of the Job:
• Handle all ticket transactions for Cardinals Museum (sells tickets, accepts payments, resolves ticket issues, scans tickets, etc.) to provide a convenient and friendly experience for customers purchasing museum tickets.
• Maintain knowledge of the operations of Cardinals Nation, Ballpark Village, and the Cardinals to answer customer inquiries.
• Accept payment for ticket transactions and help reconcile cash/receipts at the end of each day.
• Address calls and emails as needed to facilitate additional ticket sales and communicate with customers and staff.

Education and Experience Preferred:
• High school diploma/GED plus 1-2 years of experience in a ticket sales, customer service, or retail position with point-of-sale role.
• Experience in face-to-face customer service roles, selling tickets in an entertainment venue and reconciling cash/sales on a daily basis.
• Proficient in working with a computerized point-of-sale system (experience with ticket systems a plus).
• Understand cash-handling procedures including start-up and EOD reconciliation.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to sit comfortably for long periods of time.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:
• High school diploma/GED (experience in lieu of diploma/GED may be considered).
• Experience in customer service or ticket sales a plus. Must be comfortable using a computer with face-to-face customer transactions and working with cash.
• Proficient in working with a computerized point-of-sale system (experience with ticket systems a plus).
• Understand cash-handling procedures including start-up and EOD reconciliation.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to sit comfortably for long periods of time.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
