Summary:

The Washington Nationals are committed to establishing Nationals Park as the premiere destination for special events in Washington, D.C. The Ballpark Enterprises intern will help the Department generate revenue by supporting the sales, marketing, and execution of non-game day events hosted at Nationals Park.

The Intern will gain experience in the events industry by working on administrative tasks and business development initiatives intended to increase department revenue and efficiencies. The intern will also contribute to carrying out large-scale events such as the Nationals Park concert series, DC Beer Festival, Congressional Baseball Game, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

2017 Internship, Ticket Operations - Washington Nationals (Washington, DC)

Summary:

The Intern will provide continuous coverage of service and support in all four box office locations and for preparation to begin and close each area on a daily basis.  Interns should assist the Ticket Operations Department in providing a wider more intensive service net for our external and internal customers.

The Intern will work closely with the Ticket Operations staff in the selling, printing, and mailing of group tickets, season tickets, and single game ticket requests.  The Intern will assist in the processing of internal CRM departmental requests and will be instrumental in the fulfillment of Nationals season ticket holder initiatives such as the Nationals Ticket Exchange Program.  Candidates should possess superior customer service skills and must work well in a fast paced environment. 

The Intern will be provided the opportunity to experience the daily and gameday functions of a MLB ticket operations department. Candidates must have prior customer service experience as well as be experienced with internet and web based browsers/searches, MS Office applications such as Excel, Word & Powerpoint, and have superior writing/reading comprehension.  Prior experience in the handling and reconciliation of cash is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the processing, printing and distribution of season, group and individual game tickets and cards

  • Process ticket exchanges in accordance with the Nationals Season Ticket Holder Exchange policy

The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle program is seeking 50/50 Raffle Ticket Sellers to sell 50/50 Raffle tickets at every Friday, Saturday and Sunday home game and other select 2017 Nationals home games from April until October. Assistant Ticket Manager - Washington Nationals (Washington, DC)

The Assistant Ticket Managers are responsible for all day to day ticket operations functions and the game day supervision of all ticket sellers and interns. Motion Graphic Designer and Editor - Washington Nationals Baseball Club, LLC (Washington, DC)

Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Production & Operations, the Motion Graphic Designer and Editor is responsible for producing and distributing audio/visual content in a wide array of mediums for the Scoreboard Production Department.  This position creates audio/visual content including in-park content, commercials, PSAs, rich media, social media, promotions, etc.

  • Produce, edit and deliver creative audio/visual content for game day and non-game day projects including but not limited to pump videos, interviews, highlights, commercials, etc.
  • Produce, edit and deliver creative broadcast quality audio/visual content through TV and Radio Broadcast Affiliates, nationals.com, MLBAM, MLB Network and all other Nationals broadcasting, web and rich media as well as video duplications in multiple formats.

Special Police Officer - Washington Nationals (Washington, DC)

Summary 
 
Reporting to the Manager of Security, the Special Police Officer, licensed with the Security Officer Management Branch, provides a safe and pleasant environment for all visitors, guests and employees to the property. Special Police Officer performs protective and enforcement functions when coping with undesired behavior, disturbance, crime, threats of life and property. In all situations, the Officers perform their duties in a courteous, professional and restrained manner, through legal methods approved and in compliance with provisions of the District of Columbia Code, Sections 4-114 and 4-115 and company policies.

This is a full-time, year round position and is designated as an “essential employee.” As such, the Special Police Officer may be required to stay beyond regular work hours and/or report in from off-duty to assist with minimum staffing coverage.

•Advise the Supervisor, On-Duty-Manager of all activities that would be of interest, importance or concern regarding the property or any activity at the Stadium.
•Complete all duties as otherwise assigned in a timely and professional manner.

Washington Nationals Tour Program offers a behind the scenes experience of the Nationals Ballpark, home to the Washington Nationals. YBA - Summer Academy Coach - Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy (Washington, DC)

Summary:

The Summer Academy Coach, Youth Baseball Academy is responsible for the supervision of scholar-athletes, baseball/softball-specific skill instruction, providing a safe environment, and serving as a positive role model for all scholar-athletes. The Summer Academy Coach will work directly with scholar-athletes, Enrichment Coordinators, as well as Baseball/Softball Coordinators, and will receive support from the Manager, Baseball/Softball Operations, Program Manager(s), and other staff as needed. In addition to overseeing mealtime activities and field trips off campus, the Summer Academy Coach’s primary responsibility will be implementing the baseball/softball and physical fitness programming for a group of 3rd, 4th, 5th,  6th,   7th  or 8th grade scholar-athletes. The Summer Academy Coach will also interact with the Academy’s entire scholar-athlete population and their families. 

The Summer Academy Coach is expected to be at the Academy for summer programming.  Hours may vary during the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. The Summer Academy Coach will also be expected to attend mandatory training and professional development programs provided by the Academy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Instruct daily baseball/softball and other predetermined physical activities
  • Monitor and assist scholar-athletes during meal time, other programming activities, and transitions between activities
  • Participate in all field trips and summer outings to and from the Academy
  • Coordinate with Baseball/Softball Coordinators for daily logistics and baseball/softball specific plans
  • Other duties as assigned

Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy Summer League Site Coordinators commit to supporting the youth baseball and character development initiatives of the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy. The Academy’s summer instructional league will immerse underserved youth in The Academy Way – a positive culture of teamwork, effort, continual learning, and a love of baseball.  Working closely with the Manager of Baseball/Softball Operations, the Summer League Site Coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing daily summer league logistics and act as lead coach for summer league activities.  Summer League Site Coordinators are responsible for administering pre and post season surveys, fitness tests, and leading occasional one-one-one coaching sessions—designed to continually develop less experienced assistant coaches as baseball instructors, youth development specialists, and community leaders.  Lastly, Summer League Site Coordinators will help plan and facilitate a community event for summer league participants and their families at the conclusion of the season in August.  The Summer League Site Coordinator will work from June 12th until August 4th.

  • Take a lead role in implementing baseball/softball instruction and lead team time
  • Maintain supplies for baseball/softball-and other physical activities.
  • Manage all Summer League Coaches and volunteers with respect to their site
