Communications Intern - Texas Rangers (Arlington, TX)

The communications intern will assist the public relations and broadcast departments in day-to-day operations. Applicant must have a strong desire to work in the sports industry, with specific knowledge of the game of baseball. Applicant must be willing to work 40 hours per week and must be able to work the entire season (February/March thru October).

Job Functions:
• Assist the Media Relations department with game day needs, office duties and special projects
• Responsible for game-day operational duties, including making copies, press box set-up, statistical information, daily clips and stat packs
• Produce portions of daily pregame and postgame notes as needed
• Assist visiting team PR representatives with various game day items
• Contribute to portions of game program
• Assist with the team's photo and media archives

Basic Requirements:
• Excellent written, verbal and phone communications skills

• Strong proficiency in time management and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented
• High degree of personal integrity and professionalism
• Able to work game days, evenings, weekends and holidays as required

Internet/New Media: Audio/Video Editing and Production
Creative Content Manager - Texas Rangers (Arlington, TX)

Job Summary
The Creative Content Manager is responsible for providing high-quality content production services to the Texas Rangers marketing department. Duties will include creative development for annual marketing campaign, pre-production and post-production on TV and radio ads, and production on other media content including web videos, podcasts, and social media content in a deadline-driven environment. This position will have a thorough understanding of brand-building and advertising strategies, solid creative writing skills, and technical production and directing skills.

Responsibilities Include:
• Creation of annual advertising campaign concepts that are within brand guidelines and established production budget
• Copywriting, directing, and producing individual television and radio spots for annual advertising campaign and other internal media needs such as ads for corporate partners, in-game vignettes for broadcasting, advertising for non-game day events, etc.
• Pre-production planning for all media projects including budgeting, casting, location scouting and working with vendors to secure needed resources
• Oversight of post-production process including editing, sound mixing, effects, slating and tagging
• Ensuring that all advertising spots are correctly slated, tagged and shipped to meet broadcast log deadlines
• Fulfill requests from broadcast partners for footage needs
• Work with accounting department to ensure timely payment of vendors

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in film, television, video production or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in advertising copywriting
• Minimum 3 years of experience in all aspects of production for television, radio and web media
• Knowledge of Avid video editing software
• Motivated team player with strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem solving skills
• Ability to work non-traditional hours including occasional nights and weekends
• Thorough knowledge of baseball a plus
• Previous sports or event business experience a plus

Sales & Marketing: Business Development
Director, Youth Baseball Programs - Texas Rangers (Arlington, TX)

Job Summary:
To develop, manage, and promote the Texas Rangers youth baseball programs including but not limited to: Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program, camps and clinics, tournaments and Youth Ballpark functions. The position will report to the Vice President, Community Outreach/Executive Director Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. 

• Implementation of the RBI program in the Rangers market including but not limited to:
o Coordination of all registration and reporting to Major League Baseball to develop Rangers RBI structure where all leagues report to Rangers instead of MLB
o Distribution and procurement of equipment and uniforms to all leagues with purchasing to be done via MLB procedures and equipment coordinated with what is presently in league possession
o Scheduling of games, fields, and umpires
o Recruitment of and coordination and main liaison with leagues playing under the Rangers RBI umbrella in order to show growth in numbers and quality of play
o Development of coaches training programs (at least 2 per calendar year) to provide coaches with resources needed to be successful
o Oversee and manage Rangers RBI Regional Tournament participation and any subsequent World Series play
o Report budget information, enrollment numbers, and weekly status updates to Executive Director and to Major League Baseball according to their timing schedules
o Manage expenses for program to maintain Foundation budget allocation for RBI programs
o Implement corporate partner elements in support of RBI program as required
• Develop strategic plan for camps, clinics, and tournaments to promote the game across the Rangers territory and provide revenue opportunities for the organization
• Direct youth ballpark, camps and clinics staff and manage staff hours, training and oversight
• Recruit and train camps and clinics coaching staff.
• Manage budgets, schedules and operations of clinics, camps and tournaments

• Strong baseball background with coaching experience preferred
• Experience managing others in prior responsibilities
• Bachelor’s degree, preferred
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop budgets and strategic plans
• Ability to work weekends and evenings
